SECPSD eLibrary now Open!
South East Cornerstone Public School Division is committed to bringing unique learning opportunities to our students. We are pleased to announce the grand opening of our new division-wide digital library where your child will be able to borrow digital books and audiobooks for free through our Overdrive service. Students and all Cornerstone staff can access the library at http://cornerstonesd.lib.overdrive.com and log into the library using their regular school Cornerstone username and password.
Our digital library is an extension of your child's school physical library, only it's online with 24/7 access to eBooks and audiobooks. It's convenient for students to check out titles at home, on the weekends or during school breaks with no worry about misplacing a book or running up late fees – these digital titles automatically return at the end of the two week lending period! You can read books on any Internet-connected device – your computer, iPad, smartphone or eReader - or download for off-line reading on multiple devices. No special app is required. Just like a regular book, each eBook may be borrowed by a single person at a time.
OverDrive can help students of all ages read more and improve comprehension. Struggling or reluctant readers, English as an additional language learners, and gifted readers can all benefit from this service.
Whether your child's interest lies in picture books, classics for required reading, or the latest popular juvenile or young adult fiction, they can find it all in the digital collection at http://cornerstonesd.lib.overdrive.com.
Online Resources - Newspapers, Magazines & eBooks
The Ministry of Education provides funding that enables all Saskatchewan students and teachers to have access to a tremendous selection of online journals, newspapers and electronic books. Several of these high quality information resources are used in post-secondary settings and learning to use them proficiently will improve students’ ability to conduct research. A number of these products also have interfaces intended for younger audiences based on similar designs. Most of the resources have citation tools. All of these resources are available within your school without a login, and are accessible outside of schools by using your Blackboard login.
Access these resources here.
All students, as well as educators who have completed their Educator’s Profile, have Blackboard accounts automatically created. If you are uncertain of your Blackboard login credentials, please contact the Network Services helpdesk at 1-866-933-8333.
