Water Project
CEC Grade 2 Project Water

In Science the grade 2’s at CEC have been learning about the importance of water, and how that affects people who do not have clean safe water.  We decided to raise money for a Unicef project that buys water tablets, sanitation kits, water health bundles and wells.  These supplies are given to people who don’t have clean, safe water.

We had a recycled toy raffle to raise money for our clean water Unicef project.  We sold tickets for $1.00 on a chance to win a bucket of toys. Draws were made Friday, January 20th. A total of an amazing $502.02 was raised!  This was done with the support of the entire student body and staff.

We are now able to purchase a local water pump for a community where children are thirsty, where babies die for lack of hygiene, and where girls are not able to go to school because they must haul water!  We think this is very important because……
Did you know?           In the world waterborne illnesses are the second leading cause of death for kids under 5.
Did you know?     900 million people DO NOT have clean water.

Did you know?   Unicef provides kids with clean water and sanitation to more than 100 countries
