BAND 10, 20, 30 - The band program offers a variety of musical experiences. There are opportunities for performance in concert band and jazz ensemble.  Special arrangements have been made to ensure every student can enroll in band.  Band is scheduled for the full year during Period 4 which is one of the 2 lunch periods.  A full credit per school year can be obtained.  In some cases band may be scheduled during a student's lunch period in which case the student will be given twenty minutes to eat their lunch.

ECS bands and Jazz bands are very active in the community as well as the Unifest Festival in Saskatoon, the Optimist Festival in Regina, the Estevan Music Festival and Musicfest Canada. Those festivals play a large part in the musical and social development of the band students and all band students should take part in these festivals if at all possible.

The basic aim of the band program and music program is to give the student an understanding and appreciation of music that will last a lifetime.  With the new school curriculum being put in place, Fine Arts will have to be taken in high school. Enrolling in band does fulfill this requirement.

CHORAL 10, 20, 30 - The aim of this class is to enable students to experience the joy of singing and to encourage and appreciate music from a variety of cultural and historical contexts. Class activities may include a music festival performance as well as performances at local nursing homes.  There are no prerequisites.

DRAMA 10 - The Drama 10 course is a 1 credit semestered course that is designed to move the student from orientation into the basic disciplines of speech, movement, improvisation and theatre studies. The emphasis is on drama and beginning skill development with a group setting. The focus is on individual progress and personal growth with process being more important than presentation.

DRAMA 20 and DRAMA 30- These classes are each worth one credit. The emphasis moves from the group oriented focus of Drama 10 to individual performance and skills evaluation. Therefore, students enrolled in Drama 20 and Drama 30 should have a keen interest in performance theatre. Students will continue to develop skills in improvisation, characterization, movement and speech. Script analysis, theatre history, play study and play production will also be covered. Note: Only one senior level of Drama may be attained per year. Prerequisites are required.
