For the past two months the Macoun School has engaged in the province wide Saskatchewan in Motion competition and by January 17th, the organization’s committee will decide how successful their efforts were. The competition required individuals within a community to become actively engaged and participate in certain general activities that promote physical development and continuous physical engagement through saskatchewaninmotion.
Macoun sought to sensitize the local community through the creation of posters that were strategically located throughout the community, which highlighted the rationale behind the event and the need for community members to engage in such an activity. Their commitment and endless sacrifices resulted in the school being placed 5th in the province for accumulating the most community pledges. Decisions are now underway to determine the top 5 finalists based on the pledge supports and video entry. The top five finalists will be posted on the saskatchewaninmotion.ca website; voting will then be done to determine the winner of $10,000 towards a project to improve physical fitness.
