WCS TO HOST CSLC CONFERENCE
Under the theme, “Flat Out Leadership,” the Weyburn Comprehensive School will host the Canadian Student Leadership Conference (CSLC) from September 25-29, 2012.
With dynamic, renowned speakers from across Canada, organizers of the conference will seek to inspire delegates to affect positive changes in themselves, their communities and the global environment by embracing the legacy of leadership.
The conference, which is the first of its kind to be hosted in Weyburn, will provide national recognition for the province, as 850 student delegates from across Canada will be afforded the opportunity to experience the flavour and hospitality of rural Saskatchewan.
Students will be exposed to leadership training seminars which will seek to develop personal and professional growth and engender a spirit of volunteerism and community. Additionally, the event seeks to promote active and forward thinking through an awareness of social and environmental issues and provides the opportunity for students and teachers to share innovative ideas.
The WCS welcomes the support of the community as they expose students to the warmth of their cultural diversity and picturesque ambiance of the community of Weyburn. Registration opens March 2012.
