Happy fall! What a glorious start to the month of October. It is hard to believe we have been back at school for an entire month. Staff and students hit the ground running and it doesn't look like we will be slowing down anytime soon. Here are some items that I would like to bring to your attention:
Thank you to Angie McArthur, an Elder from Carlyle, who spoke to our grades 3-12 students about residential schools. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us;
Our School Community Council Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. with coffee and dainties being served. We hope that many of you will come out to join us as we work together to support the learning and wellness of each student at Lampman School. We are desperately looking for high school parents to join us! Our SCC focuses on supporting our School Improvement Plan and our Student Representative Council (SRC). You won't regret getting involved! If you have any questions, please contact Tammy Dufour, our SCC Chairperson;
Education Week is Oct. 16-22 and we have planned a variety of literary activities for families and students. Please check the calendar for upcoming events; and
We hope you have accessed Mathletics at home and are finding it a useful program to support your child's learning in mathematics. Any feedback you could give your child's teacher regarding the pilot math program, JUMP Math, would be appreciated.
As always, feel free to call, send an email, or phone your child's teacher or me if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child's learning and wellness.
