MacLeod Elementary School celebrated Family Literacy Day on Friday, January 27th with a book character dress up day and then a day of activities linked to literacy. To wrap up our Great Sledding Reading Race we started off our celebration with Mrs. Cole reading Too Much Glue to the school. Then we split into our SLT groups and we read books on i-pads, played board games, slid on our outdoor hill, played some friendly games of BINGO, read with friends in the library and had a cookie snack. As you can see, almost the whole school including many staff members got into the spirit of Literacy Day with some great costumes. Characters such as Anne of Green Gables, Captain Underpants, Curious George, the Man in the Yellow Hat, Ms. Frizzle, the Paperbag Princess, Cinderella, Fly Guy, the Hardy Boys and many others could be seen hanging out at the school. What an amazing day celebrating literacy!
