Newer Announcements and Reminders

 

The Cugnet Centre gym will not be available for use during the period 4 lunch hour  today (Friday).     

The Division III students on lunch hour at that time can go outside or stay in the commons area.

 

Some students have been parking in the College Parking Lot and this is your warning that you will be towed next time you park there. 

 

Sr. Badminton will begin after Jr. Basketball is finished in March (practice times TBA).  Anyone wanting to be on the team must be able to commit to the following dates: April 29 (Districts), May 6 (Regionals), May 13 (Provincials).  Invitational tournament dates are March 18 (Midale), April 1 (Weyburn) and April 8 (Estevan).  Weyburn club badminton runs Friday and Sunday evenings at 7:00 for those wanting to start swinging a raquet. There is a small drop in fee for non-club members.

Congratulations to the Junior Boys' Basketball team for winning the Consolation Final at the Estevan Sr. Tournament over the weekend.  Shout out to Blake Anderson for draining five 3s in the 2nd quarter (4 in a row) to extend our lead.

The Freshman Girls' Basketball team won their tournament in Fillmore this past weekend.  Well done girls!

The Weyburn Travel Club will be having a meeting on MONDAY FEB 13 at 7pm in the upstairs multipurpose room at the Tom Zandee sports arena to provide information and allow for registrations for the 2018 tour to Europe. If you are currently in grade 9, 10 or 11 you are eligible to go on this trip! We will be offering a 10 day tour through Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland! Come on by and get some more details. If you have any questions about our club or the tour please see Mr. Kerr in the Eagle gym.

Newer Announcements and Reminders

McLeod Series – There is a sign up sheet for the fan bus going to Estevan on Wednesday, February 15th; the cost is $2.00.  Estevan brought 2 bus loads to our games last night so let's show support for our teams next week!

 

Students: Please stay out of the hallways during Period 3 and 4 lunch!  There are classes going on and some of you are making too much noise when you are in the hallways.  If you need to go to your locker, get in and out quietly. Do not visit in the halls! You need to be in the gym, library (if you prebooked a spot),  Commons, or outside. 

 

The following Grade 7-9 rooms are going swimming during P.E. on Friday. Be prepared!

7-1, 7-2, and 7-4, 8-1, and 8-4 (during P3 math), 9-1, 9-4, and 9-5

 

Driver Training:  The list has gotten quite large so Mrs. Vollbrecht might have to make some decisions on who will be able to take the class.  She will go with the oldest first and also the ones who have their SGI numbers so you might want to get them A.S.A.P.

 

Grad photos are on the stage.  You still can book an appointment.  Just go and talk to them when you have a spare.

 

 

Grade 10- 12 concert Band and grade 8 and 9 Concert Bands will run as normal this week, sectionals will be next week.

Senior Dance (today).  If you are going to be late, you must come sign the "Late" list at the office.  If you are bringing a Guest, you must complete a "Guest Pass" before noon today and you must meet with a Vice-Principal)

Newer Announcements and Reminders

Would all grade 9 students please pick up their tape sculptures and art work out of Mrs. MO's art room by 3:30 today. Anything left in the art room will be put on the table in the hallway and if not claimed by Wednesday of next week, will be disposed of. 

Rookie boys Basketball has a game against St. Mikes at 4:15 on Monday in the Cugnet Center Gym.  Come out and cheer them on!  If you can score keep, please see Mrs. Cuthbert.

All of Mrs Morrison's grade 9 art students and students from 8-1 need to get their portfolios off of the art shelves in Mrs Morrison's room today or as soon as possible.  Remember if you want to take part in the JUNE ART FAIR you need your work!

 

To all Semester 1 Communication Media students:

Return all borrowed materials, especially Memory Cards.  If you do not return your borrowed memory card you will be charged $10. 

Make sure you hand you card directly to Mr. Lendrum and your name is taken off of the list of memory cards not returned.

 

Attention Gr. 7-9 Students and teachers: A reminder that all gr. 7-9 P.E classes are going swimming this Friday, February 3rd.  9-3 will be going during ELA in period 3 and 8-4 will be going period 3 as well.

 

 "Community Outings Schedules are ready to be picked up! Those who signed up and turned in their forms please come see Mrs. Campbell by the end of this week."

 

Anyone from grades 7 to 11 who is interested in playing Bantam or High School football next year is asked to meet in Mr. Abel's classroom (Room 409) today (Thursday) after school for a short meeting. Preparations for next season will be discussed, highlighted by our new football conditioning program. If you cannot make it to the meeting, please see Mr. Abel beforehand.

The new Driver Training In-Class list is up at the office.  Sign up if you will be turning 15 by April.  Also pick up a sheet to learn how to get your SGI number.

 

Baking Club will start up next Tuesday after school.  Everyone is welcome.

 

All of Mr. Abel's History 30 students from last semester who did not hand in their text books need to do so immediately. He has some large History 30 classes this semester and he needs all of his texts back.

 

The Freshman Girls' Basketball team placed 2nd in an 8-team tournament in Moose Jaw this past weekend, losing by 6 in the final.  Congrats girls!

Newer Announcements and Reminders

 

All art students in Mrs. Klein's room need to clean out their art shelves asap. 

 

The junior boys basketball team will practise in the Eagles gym on Monday from 1-3, then use regular practise times on Wednesday and Thursday.

 

The Mocassins that were found last week (in the snow) are still in the lost and found!  Come get them if they are yours! 

 

Grade 12's….please pick up the Grad photo brochures outside the office to start booking your Grad photos.  The photos start on February 6th so it's not far away…you NEED to make an appointment to get your photo done!!

 

 

Class Changes  (LAST DAY TODAY)- The appointment sheets are up at the Office to change classes for Semester 2.  This is for Grades 10-12 only. Make sure you do not have an exam when you are booking the appointment.  You are only allowed to make one appointment so you need to be sure of what classes you are changing!!

Newer Announcements and Reminders

There is Jr. Choir this Thursday after school.

 

There will be Curling this week, however it will be optional for the high school students.  Please get your permission forms to Mr. Field as soon as possible, if you have not done so already.

 

Bros Club is today. Meet at 3:30 in Mr.Olson's room; we will be leaving shortly thereafter.
