Newer Announcements and Reminders

 

Mrs. Campbell needs all applicants to hand in their Community Outings permission forms by tomorrow (Friday)

 

Grade 12s: There are brochures outside of the office for you to pick up to start booking your Grad photos.  Please do that as soon as possible.

 

Mrs. Warren, Mr. Lund and ALL of the Grade 9s would like the THANK ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS who participated in the data collection during the Math Fair on Tuesday!  We appreciate you taking the time to come down and help us out!  Stay tuned for which booths were voted to win!

Boys' Freshman Basketball game vs St. Micheal today at 5:45. Come cheer our boys on!  The boys on the team need to be here by 5:15.

Reminder to all Ski Trip participants: The departure meeting is tonight at 7 p.m. in the library. Please be sure there is a parent or guardian present.

WCS SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOPS will be held on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 1ST  and  THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND in Room 116 (Mr. Berling's room). It is very important for grade 12s to attend ONE of the workshops if they are going to apply for any WCS Scholarships and Bursaries.  There are specific scholarships for students going into trades so any students who have applied to Sask Polytechnic should attend. If you are taking a year off you are still eligible to apply for scholarships.  Please plan to attend ONE of the workshops to get all the information first hand and so you understand the application process.  Workshops will be approx. 30 min.

Congratulations to the Junior Boys' Basketball team for winning gold in the Estevan tournament over the weekend.

University of Regina  will be here on Tuesday, January 17th for an Awards and Admissions Workshop.  If you are attending U of R in the fall this workshop will be helpful for the Awards process.  If you have not yet applied you can apply during the workshop with the U of R rep.  The workshop will be held at 12:15 p.m. in the computer room off of the Library. The workshop will take approx. 30 min.

Newer Announcements and Reminders

 

REMINDER to Grade 9 Mini Go students: Swimming is this Thursday.  If you CANNOT go, let Mr. Fowler know.

 

Music activities this week are:

Junior Choir - Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

 

Every Tuesday and Wednesday in January (Starting this week –January 10th and 11th) the Cugnet Gym will be reserved for floor hockey in Period 3.  We will run full court with teams of 5 plus a goalie.  Games will be 3 minutes and then two new teams will jump in. NO SIGN UP required – just show up! Gyms shoes required; gym clothes are recommended!

 

Next Bros Club will be today (Wednesday) in Mr. Olson's room.  See posters in hallways or Mr. Olson about January and February activities.  Be sure to get a permission slip from Mr. Olson.

 

SKI TRIP – there will be a meeting for the ski trip on Tuesday January 17th at 7:00 pm in the Library. All student on the trip must attend along with at least one parent or guardian. This will be our final meeting before the trip! Please see Mr. Kerr if you have any questions.

 

Mr. D. Johnson is looking for score keepers for basketball games the next 2 Wednesdays at 5:45.  If you need volunteer hours and can help please see him.

Newer Announcements and Reminders

Mrs. Campbell is looking for Grade 9-12 students to participate in the FIP Community Outings Program next semester.  Sign up sheets are outside the office and the FIP Classroom.  Students will accompany the class on an outing one Wednesday per month and miss their period 5 class.  A great volunteer experience! Sign up will close on January 23rd.

 

REMINDER Grade 9 students: Mini Go swimming is this Thursday.  If you CANNOT go, let Mr. Fowler know.

SKI TRIP – there are a few seats available on the ski trip bus if any students are still interested. Please see Mr. Kerr ASAP if you would like to find out more! A reminder to all students on the ski trip that you final payment is due January 13th.

Due to lack of interest there will be no club basketball.

Are you feeling stressed about upcoming assignments and exams?  Did you know that knitting and crocheting can help you feel less anxious?  Come by the Clothing Lab on Mondays after school to join lots of lovely people for Stitch Club.  You don't need to know anything or bring anything, just come! Everyone is welcome.  There might be food :)
